I joined Equinox Group as a Research Associate after completing my Masters in Public Health in Epidemiology at Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. I previously worked for several small non-profits and knew I valued the atmosphere of a small company. Equinox Group was instantly appealing with its close knit community and work environment that encourages continued education and professional growth while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
The hands-on nature of the mentoring process allows for an educational introduction to Equinox’s areas of expertise and immediate participation in projects. In my first months, I directly contributed to three different cases, collaborated with staff at all levels, and participated in client meetings. The variation in the therapeutic area of interest and style of the case makes each project unique and delivers an exciting and challenging experience.

I graduated from McGill University with a degree in chemical engineering, but wanted to switch gears during the transition to my first job. As a Research Associate at Equinox Group, I was able to apply the analytical skillset that I worked hard for, while simultaneously expanding my horizons and satisfying my intellectual curiosity. From day one, I was deep in important casework with real responsibility, despite the entry-level title.
Within a few years, I had amassed experience in a wide range of therapeutic areas, project management, and client interaction. I was promoted to Analyst, and my role has only grown since then. I credit in large part the small size and flat structure at Equinox, which means your role here is largely what you make of it. It’s a tremendously supportive environment that offers fertile ground for one to grow professionally.

My background is in molecular biology—I did post-doctoral research on gene expression at Harvard University. I left academe to join a nascent biotech company. After nearly a decade of directing bench research in biotech, I moved over to business development, working in that role for both biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
The Equinox Group attracted me because it offers a small company feel, but a variety of work to keep things interesting. The company has a highly collegial work environment—the only time I have experienced an environment this conducive to achievement was when I worked in a 20-person biotech firm.
Being a consultant for Equinox offers a wide range of assignments. Solving different problems for many different pharmaceutical companies (and a few biotechs) continues to provide new challenges and offers a terrific learning experience for me, even after 25 years in this field.

I started working at Equinox Group after completing my master’s degree in Engineering Management from Dartmouth College. Armed with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, I had previously worked in market research and analytics, but in a different industry. My interest in the pharmaceutical sector and the business of health care, coupled with a desire to make the best of my skill set, propelled me towards Equinox. After one summer interning at Equinox, I was absolutely certain I wanted to come back.
When I joined Equinox as an Analyst, I began working on important cases right away and, consequently, have learned a lot about various therapeutic areas and modeling techniques. The atmosphere is collaborative and knowledge-sharing is always encouraged. Although the learning curve is steep, with time and the help of others, I grew more comfortable with the work and took on more responsibility. I was given the opportunity to try my hand at newer analytical and programming techniques, together with qualitative interviewing, ensuring continual growth.
With a background working in large organizations, I find the friendly, approachable attitude at Equinox positively refreshing. Smart and helpful colleagues, challenging casework, and an environment that encourages innovation, accompanied by an emphasis on work-life balance, make Equinox a wonderful place to work.

I started working at Equinox Group as a Research Associate after graduating from Yale University. Over the next several years, the company provided many growth opportunities, and I was promoted to Analyst and then to Consultant. After four years at Equinox Group, I left to attend The Wharton School. Comparing my experiences at Equinox with those of my business school classmates at other companies, I learned more about how unique the company’s culture is. When I graduated with an MBA in health care management, I decided to try a different career path, but soon realized I would not find a better job than the one I had had at Equinox Group. I returned to my position as a Consultant at Equinox, where I continue to gain responsibility and grow professionally. The perpetual improvement and evolution of Equinox products ensures that new challenges are always available.

The Research Associate position was my first job after studying neurobiology and global health at Harvard University. Equinox Group introduced me to the intersection of medicine and business. The work here is truly at the frontier of drug discovery and development. I started working on client cases my first day here and Equinox Group’s flat structure has already exposed me to several therapeutic areas. The rigorous and fast-paced nature of the work can be intimidating, but the small company fosters a collaborative environment where it is clear that my personal development is prioritized so that my professional growth aligns with the company’s growth. Though relatively inexperienced, my opinions are still sought and trusted. I proudly take ownership of my work here at Equinox, but thankfully the work does not consume my life as the company graciously encourages a work-life balance.
